Senior diplomat Richard Holbrooke, the Obama administration's special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, was hospitalized after falling ill at the State Department on Friday. Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Holbrooke was undergoing evaluations at a nearby hospital Friday afternoon after feeling unwell Holbrooke was appointed special envoy by President Barack Obama in the early weeks of his administration and has traveled frequently to the two South Asian countries, as well as to other capitals that are coordinating with the United States in the region.
