European scholars came together for a day to debate the question of so-called Islamophobia in Wroclaw, western Poland on Friday. The conference would consider how the media portrays Islam, attitudes to Muslim immigrants in France and how Muslims are viewed in the former Soviet Union, according to dpa. There is growing interest in the subject in countries such as Poland, which has a growing Muslim population. It is estimated that around 30,000 Muslims, including around 2,000 Tartars, live in overwhelmingly Catholic Poland.
