It called on the international community to deal firmly with the terrorist and terror sponsoring groups which target the stability and security of nations. It emphasized the role of media outlets in refraining from publishing or transmitting any materials that encourage or support such criminal acts or their perpetrators. Maritime piracy The Council expressed appreciation to the efforts made by the GCC naval forces in combating maritime piracy and protection of shipping corridors.
