Cholera has spread to all of Haiti's 10 departments and its capital, with the number of infections reaching more than 80,000 cases, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Friday. The epidemic may strike as many as 650,000 people in the next six month, dpa quoted the Pan-American Health Organization and the World Health Organization as saying. The epidemic has been driven by a particularly virulent strain of cholera and the underlying problems in earthquake-ravaged Haiti, Ban said in an address to the UN General Assembly convened to discuss the situation in Haiti. Cholera has killed more than 1,800 people in the last two months, Ban said.
