Hijjah, 1431/Dec. 02, 2010, SPA -- A NATO service member was killed in a roadside bombing Thursday in eastern Afghanistan, a region that still sees heavy Taliban attacks as NATO pours in more troops and resources into the country's south. According to AP, another service member died Wednesday in southern Afghanistan, also in a roadside bombing, NATO said. The military coalition did not release details on either bombing. Two NATO members have been killed this month; 55 died in November. On Wednesday, Taliban militants seized 16 Afghan demining experts near the Pakistan border. They released all but seven of them hours after the ambush. Fazel Wahab, from OMAR, an Afghan humanitarian group working to find and dismantle homemade bombs, said the attack happened near the Torkham border crossing in Nangarhar province. Also on Thursday, Afghan and coalition forces detained numerous suspected insurgents during two security operations in southern and eastern Afghanistan.
