Hijjah 15, 1431, Nov 21, 2010, SPA -- A delegate of Princess Al-Jawhara Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders (PACER-HD), an affiliate of the Jeddah-based King Abdul-Aziz University (KAU) participated recently in a human Variome project workshop to put an education camping for the project in the U.S. state of Washington. The delegate, Alaa Edrees is a demonstrator at the PACER-HD, who took part in a workshop of the project, which was held at the annual American Society of Human Genetics meeting in Washington DC. Alaa gave an oral presentation that describes a plan to make an educational campaign, to raise awareness regarding genetic diseases and their causes and types of services provided to patients alongside the role of the HPV to serve the population. The Human Variome Project is an International Initiative with a goal of understanding genetic variation and using this information to improve human health through the control of genetic disease. --MORE
