Hijjah 11, 1431, Nov 17, 2010, SPA -- India-US cooperation in the field of education is now poised for major expansion and the Foreign Education Bill provides an "excellent opportunity" for American universities to open their off-shore locations in India, the country's top envoy has said. India sees education as a "critical" factor for achieving its goals to have inclusive growth and to realize the potential for taking the Indian economy to a higher growth trajectory, Indian Ambassador to the US Meera Shankar said. "India-US cooperation in the field of education is today poised for major expansion. With a young population, there is greater demand in India for expanding the education infrastructure," she said at a function to commemorate the 60th year of the Nehru-Fulbright Educational Exchange Programme, according to a report of the Press Trust of India.
