Qa'dah 28, 1431 H/ Nov. 05, 2010, SPA -- A Qantas Boeing 747 aircraft bound for Sydney on Friday returned safely to Singapore after facing engine problems shortly after take-off, a media report said. It would be the second time in two days that a Qantas flight has had to be aborted due to engine trouble, according to dpa. The Channelsnews Asia website said flight QF6 with 412 passengers and 19 crew on board "experienced an issue with its number 1 engine," citing Australia's Qantas Airways. As a precautionary measure, the captain of the Boeing 747 aircraft sought priority clearance for a return to Singapore and landed the aircraft safely, the report said. The airline was not immediately available for comment. On Thursday, Qantas flight QF32 bound for Sydney was forced to return to Singapore after the Airbus A380 plane experienced an engine problem over Indonesia's Batam island shortly after take-off.
