Qa'dah 25, 1431 / Nov. 02, 2010, SPA -- Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency He Ping and the accompanying delegation paid a visit here today to Saudi Press Agency (SPA). During the visit, Xinhua Editor-in-Chief met SPA Director General Abdullah bin Fahad Al-Hussein, Director General of News Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Awadh, Director of Technical Department Eng. Abdullah Safr Al-Ghamdi and directors of SPA editorial and technical departments. SPA Director General Abdullah bin Fahad Al-Hussein welcomed Xinhua Editor-in-Chief, describing his visit as promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of media. Al-Hussein also stressed the importance of activating the agreement signed by SPA and Xinhua. For his part, Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency He Ping thanked SPA officials for the warm reception, commending SPA potentials in the fields of editing and technology. Following the meeting, Xinhua Editor-in-Chief and the accompanying delegation toured SPA departments and were briefed on the activities and work process. SPA Director General held a luncheon in honor of Xinhua Editor-in-Chief. The luncheon was attended by Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yang Honglin and a number of officials of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
