Qaeda 1431 H. / 29 October 2010, SPA -- Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Salem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, chaired the evening session on the ways to combat crime within the 12th International summit on Across the Border Crime in Geneva on Friday. Addressing the meeting, which was attended by international experts, specialists and senior officials in the field of fighting organized crime, Al-Salem gave an account on the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the field of protection of honesty and fighting of corruption, citing the issuance of the Royal order on the Ministers Prosecution 1961, fighting of counterfeiting system 1961, personnel discipline system 1971 and bribery combating 1992. The Cabinet of Saudi Arabia passed in 2004 the National Strategy for Protection of Honesty and Combating of Corruption, Al-Salem said, adding that Saudi authorities are currently drafting a new system on combating the hostility against public money. He said the Kingdom has signed the United Nations Agreement on Combating of Corruption, the final approval by the Saudi authorities concerned are currently underway. The Kingdom also endorsed in 2005 the United Nations Agreement on Combating organized Crime and concluded a number of bilateral security agreements which tackled the issues of combating corruption with friendly countries, he said. --More
