Qa'dah 12, 1431, Oct 20, 2010, SPA --Malaysian police have called off the search for survivors of a ferry sinking in a Borneo river after finding 13 bodies. State marine police official Francis James says seven of the bodies were found Wednesday, making the accident the worst in Sarawak state in recent years. Seventeen people were rescued after the ferry sank in a remote jungle area Monday following a collision with a tugboat. James says an investigation revealed the ferry had tried to overtake the tugboat in a bend and the two vessels collided. Police have arrested the ferry's two skippers to investigate them for possible criminal negligence. The maximum penalty for causing death through negligence is two years in prison, the Associated Press reported.
