Qa'da 09, 1431, Oct 17, SPA -- Saudi Arabia has taken a lead in developing super-centers for industrial, economic and educational expansion - all with significant support from Saudi Aramco, according to Majid Al-Ghaslan, Manager of Technical Services at Aramco Services Co. Majid Al-Ghaslan made these remarks while citing the Saudi Aramco model and highlighting “Economic Trends and Capital Projects in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC)” before a gathering of the Rice Global Engineering and Construction Forum, held recently at Rice University, Houston. The Forum attracted the most prestigious gathering of engineering, procurement and construction executives in the United States, said a latest report carried by Saudi Aramco's web-site. The Kingdom's rising prominence as a global economic power has been enhanced by opening its borders to more joint ventures and domestic engagement through the new Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority. Such initiatives, Al-Ghaslan said, have made possible the vision of master-planned projects on the scale of those pioneered by Saudi Aramco. --MORE
