Qa'da 04, 1431, Oct 10, SPA -- The ADFIMI Development Forum has honored the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, in recognition of the Bank's productive and active contributions in the field of development finance and its instrumental role in fostering socio-economic development in member countries and Muslim communities in non member countries. Established as an autonomous, independent and non-profit international organization, ADFIMI stands for Association of National Development Finance Institutions (NDFIs) in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). It started its operations in September 1987 at its headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey, on being given the status of an International Organization by the Turkish Government. The honoring ceremony held on October 07 in the Turkish city, was attended by Dr. Cevdet Yilmaz, the Turkish minister of State, who described the role of the Islamic Development Bank as a success story in the field of socio-economic development under the leadership of Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali. He also praised the Bank's initiatives which serve the common interest of member countries such as the Bank's support of the cross-border Turkish-Syrian Partnership Strategy, and its willingness to replicate it in some other member countries. --MORE
