Attiyah highlighted the GCC achievements, including the customs union, the GCC common market, and the GCC common action in the areas of education, environment and strengthening the role of women in development, as well as the progress that has been achieved in the GCC monetary union. The GCC chief also tackled the Middle East issue, the importance of the Arab peace initiative and the importance of the speedy formation of a new Iraqi government that represents the Iraqi people without outside interference. Al-Attiyah urged Iran to respond to the demands of the United Arab Emirates or to refer the dispute over the UAE's three islands of Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa to the International Court of Justice, QNA reported. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
