The Muslim World League (MWL) held a reception party in Riyadh this evening in honor of foreign ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom. Ambassador of Burkina Faso Omer Diawara, who is also Dean of Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Kingdom, addressed the gathering. He lauded the humanitarian role the MWL is playing, citing its relief effort to help the needy and disaster-hit everywhere without exception or segregation. For his part, MWL Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki explained that Islam, the latest of religions, called for the provision of solidarity and assistance to others. He said the basic principles of the MWL emanate from consolidating the concept of Islam's humanity and spread of the culture of solidarity and social development. He recalled that MWL continue to follow-up the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques initiative for dialogue among followers of different religions, cultures and civilizations. He said MWL currently focuses on the relation between Muslims and non-Muslims and the improving of Islam's profile before others.
