Recognizing Diabetes as the Global Epidemic of the 21st century and looking at the high prevalence of the debilitating diabetes in the region, the First International Diabetes Summit will be hosted in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on the 8th & 9th October with the support from the GCC Health Ministers Council& The Council of Nursing and Nursing Specialization for Cooperation Council States. As many as 25 international experts from the world's leading diabetic centers will gather at the conference that will be held at Moevenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, according to a latest report of GEO News of Pakistan. The International Diabetes Summit will gather more than 200 Doctors, International, National & Local Diabetic Associations representatives, National Health Authorities, Diabetologists, Endocrinologists, who will highlight the rising prevalence of diabetes and its complications in the world in general and in the Middle East in particular and discuss recent advances as regards prevention, management and treatment of diabetes. They will also work towards developing global and national strategies to reduce the socio-economic burden of diabetes and to create a network of committed global and regional key opinion leaders. The conference is accredited by Ministry of Health, UAE and the Council of Nursing and Nursing Specialization for The Cooperation Council For the Arab States of The Gulf (GCC). Hence, the conference participants will receive credits and it will be part of their further education.
