UAE Health Minister Dr. Hanif Hassan met with U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sibelius to discuss means of fostering cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the United States in the field of health, Following the meeting, Dr Hanif said his visit is aimed at consolidating relations with countries and institutions that have highly developed medical services. On his part, UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, who participated in the meeting, spoke of the importance of visits which contribute to increasing opportunities for the exchange of expertise and cooperation in the medical and other fields. Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali also visited the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health and Medicare headquarters. The minister and the accompanying delegation also visited the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM."
