A relief aid ship carrying 650 tons of aid material left Saturday the Tartous seaport heading to Egypt's El-Arish seaport as a measure to ease the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, said Minister of State for Red Crescent Affairs Dr. Bashar Al-Sha'ar in a press statement. The aid ship was meant to reflect Syria's eagerness to help fellow Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Head of Syria's Red Crescent Society Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Attar shared the same sentiment, hoping that the relief aid would ease part of the blockade imposed by Israel since 2007.
