Thani, the Qatari Emir, and praised his patronage to the efforts of the Arab-African ministerial council for the settlement of Darfur problem. The council praised the initiative of al-Thani to establish a development bank in Darfur with a capital of $2 billion. The council reiterated its solidarity with Sudan and rejected the measures taken by the international criminal court about the dispute in Darfur, and the council rejected all accusations of the court including the accusation of mass genocide, directed to Sudanese Pesident Omar al-Bsheer. A regards Somalia the council condemned the terror act that targetted hotel in Mogadishu, and voiced support to Somalia's elected President Sheikh Shareef Ahmad and his legitimate government. The coucnil urged the Somalian factions to cooperate for ending the sufferings of the Somalian people. On Kososvo, the council welcomed the decision of the international justice court issued on July 23, 2010, pertaining to Kosovo's independence, and hoped that this development would contribute to enhancing the pillars of security and stability of the Balkan region. The council supported the nomination of the Kingdom Saudi Arabia to the membership of the council of governors of IEAE. The council also supported nomination of Oman to the membership of the executive council of UNESCO at the elections due to be held on October, 2011.
