It called for avoiding intervention in its domestic affairs and preservation of its Arab and Islamic identity, and hoped that a national government would be formed there. The council welcomed hosting of Bahrain to the seventh meeting for interior ministers of Iraq's neighboring countries on Sept 23,2010, and hoped that the meeting would pave the way for preserving Iraq's unity, sovereignty and independence. The council deplored series of blasts that took place in various regions of Iraq and called on all concerned parties to confront terror acts that aim at destabilization of the country. On Lebanon the council lauded the historical visit paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Aziz to Lebanon, accompanied by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The council reiterated its support to articles of Doha agreement pertaining to Lebanon as well as Taif agreement, and praised the efforts of the Lebanese government to enhance the pillars of security in the country. The council praised the political move of Sheikh Hamad ibn Khalifa al-Thani, the Qatari Emir, at the Lebanese arena and the significance of his visit to Lebanon.
