Inflation in Kuwait during the month of June rose 3.4 percent compared to the same month last year, while the rate was only 0.5 compared to last May, KUNA reported. Official statistics issued by the Central Department of Statistics showed that the most risen food groups was the food commodities which rose by 7.2 percent compared with the month of June of last year, while the inflation rate of the same group was 0.1 percent for the same month compared with May. The data indicated that the rate of inflation of housing services rose by 4.7 percent compared with June of last year, while the rate increased 1.3 percent compared with last May. It added that the inflation rate of beverages and tobacco amounted to four percent compared with June of last year, but recorded a decrease by 0.2 percent compared with last May, adding that the inflation rate of clothing and footwear was 3.8 percent compared with June of last year. It showed that the rate of inflation for home services and commodities rose by 1.9 percent compared with June of last year, while the rate increased 0.2 percent compared with last May, while the rate of inflation for education and health services rose by 1.5 percent compared with June of last year and decreased by 0.2 percent compared with last May.
