National Water Company NWC signed a partnership contract (PPP) with the private sector to manage and operate water and wastewater sector in the two cities, Makkah and Taif with the consortium of the French Saur Groupe. and Al-Zamil on Saturday 18 Ramadan 1431H, corresponding to August 28, 2010. The contract values (SR173.748.580) million and lasts for (5) years. Contract signing ceremony took place at NWC headquarter in Riyadh city, and the contract was signed by Eng. Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Al Hussaien, Minister of Water and Electricity and Chairman of NWC BoD as well as Mr. Joel Seche, executive Chairman of the French, SURE Group and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Zamil, Chairman of Zamil Group Holding Company, on behalf of the consortium SURE and Al-Zamil for Operations & Maintenance Co. Ltd. in the presence of a number of members as well as a number of senior staff of Board of Boards of both companies NWC stated that the contract signed with the consortium of SURE and Al-Zamel is to include the supervision, management, operation and maintenance of to develop water and wastewater sector, as well as managing customers' services, development and revenue collection, reduce leakages, and the training of existing employees and personnel, qualifying, development and upgrading their performance in both the cities, Makkah and Taif.
