Yemen and Britain discussed here on Wednesday issues of cooperation between the two countries, especially in media field, according to Saba. This came during a meeting between Information Minister Hassan al-Lawzi and the second secretary and the media official at the UK embassy to Sana'a, Daisy Oregon, and the representative of Thomson Foundation for media training and development in London, Abdul Alim al-Shamiri. Talks in the meeting dealt with ideas provided by Thomson Foundation to the Yemeni ministry and medial institution to improve Yemen's image abroad. The two sides discussed cooperation in area of training Yemeni cadres and requirements of developing and modernizing Yemeni media and enhancing its role in improving Yemen's image. Al-Lawzi praised the UK government's efforts to support plans and programs of development and reforms in Yemen, hoping further contributions in the media area, whether from Thomson foundation or from other institutions specialized in media in the UK, especially the BBC.
