One police officer was killed and four slightly wounded in Grozny on Saturday while detaining gunman, Khamzat Shemilev, who was on the federal Wanted List, Itar-Tass learnt at the republican branch of the Federal Security Service. "The Russian Federal Security Service along with the Russian Interior Ministry carried out a special operation to detain Khamzat Shemilev in Grozny in the Entuziasty Street," a source said. "Shemilev offered armed resistance, and when an attempt was made to seize him, he blasted himself." The republican branch of the Federal Security Service reported that officers found a pistol, a mobile phone and a notebook belonging to Shemilev at the pace of the operation. The gunman was identified, and urgent investigation measures are in progress.
