A jetliner was being held on the runway at San Francisco's international airport Thursday because of an alleged telephone threat, federal officials said. Officials stopped the American Airlines flight, bound for New York City, before its scheduled takeoff early Thursday, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said. "All passengers are safe, and ... TSA requested the plane be moved to a remote location, TSA spokeswoman Suzanne Trevino said in a statement. Passengers were taken off the airplane on at least five buses to be interviewed and re-screened. American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said the threat was telephoned to local police. There were 163 passengers and 11 crew members aboard the Boeing 767, he said.
