A Peruvian court on Wednesday repealed parole granted to US citizen Lori Berenson in May, who was convicted on terrorism charges, according to dpa. Berenson had served almost 15 years until May, after she was convicted of involvement in a plot by leftist rebels to attack the Peruvian Congress. Her release from prison on parole was met with great opposition among the Peruvian public. The original life sentence for Berenson, 40, had been reduced to 20 years. A judge ruled in May that she could be released on parole provided that she remained in Peru for the remaining five years of her sentence. -- SPA
