Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani arrived Tuesday in Montevideo on a one -day official visit to the Republic of Uruguay. Meanwhile, Qatar and the Republic of Uruguay held a session of official talks, under co-chairmanship of the Emir and President Jose Mujica. The two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields, and reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported. Following the meeting, the Emir and the President witnessed the signing of two agreements and two Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries. The two sides signed agreements for economic and trade cooperation, and technical and cultural cooperation as well as a Memoranda of Understanding in tourism and sports fields. Earlier, the Emir and the President of Uruguay held a meeting before the session of official talks.
