The Czech Republic reported on Monday the fourth victim of the weekend's flash floods as a body of a 73-year-old Czech woman was found in Poland. It was not immediately known whether the fourth Czech death adds to a total of nine victims reported in the flooded German-Czech- Polish border region, or if it represents one of the three deaths already reported by Poland, according to dpa. The body was discovered near the Polish town of Bogatynia, some five kilometres from the woman's hometown of Hermanice, police spokeswoman Vlasta Suchankova said. One person remains missing in the Czech Republic. Rescuers are yet to find a man who was seen falling into the raging waters on Saturday in the village of Detrichov. The weekend's flash floods caused heavy damage in the Czech Republic with dozens of destroyed buildings, roads and bridges. The Liberec Region alone estimated that the damaged public and private property was worth 4 billion koruny (214 million dollars). Some 900 households were without power on Monday and six train lines remained closed. But waters were receding in most places and many people have returned home to start cleaning up their houses. More than 300 soldiers were sent to the area to help with the clean up and building of temporary bridges. The government approved 40 million koruny (2.1 million dollars) in urgent aid for the Liberec Region and was ready to approve millions more on Wednesday.
