Colombian Vice President Angelino Garzon suffered a heart attack Monday and will need surgery to treat multiple heart failure, doctors said. Garzon, 64, took office Saturday as the vice president under the new Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, according to dpa. He was at home when he felt strong pain in his chest, and his family called an ambulance. Bogota's Health Secretary Hector Zambrano said he was taken to the Shaio Clinic, where tests confirmed a heart attack. According to his relatives, Garzon never lost consciousness and he even walked to the ambulance.
