21 Governmental hospitals have been awarded certificates of Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI). The hospitals were subjected to 881 international standards at 22 domains including all health systems and services. This development comes within the framework of the efforts of the health ministry to develop services extended to citizens and residents. This was announced by health minister Dr Abdullah Al-Rabiah. He noted that Dammam-based King Fahd Specialist Hospital and Babtain Heart Center have been awarded the American Joint Commission International certificate. Meanwhile, Dr Mohammed Khusheim,, the undersecretary of the health ministry, said the hospitals which have been awarded CBAHI certificates include Hira hospital in Makkah, King Fahd hospital in Baha, Assir central hospital, King Abdul-Aziz specialist hospital in Taif, King Fahd hospital in Najran, King Fahd general hospital in Jeddah, King Abdul-Aziz hospital in Jeddah, King Saud medical complex in Riyadh, Saud al-Babtain center and King Saud hospital in Qassim, King Fahd hospital in Hofof, al-Iman general hospital in Riyadh, children hospital in Dammam, King Khalid hospital in Hail, maternity hospital in Jeddah, al-Yamama hospital in Riyadh, King Abdul-Aziz hospital in Makkah, King Fahd central hospital in Jazan, King Fahd specialist hospital in Qassim, Prince Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz hospital in Riyadh and Khamis-misheit general hospital.
