Saudi Cultural Days, organized by Ministry of Culture and Information, started here today on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Saudi-Chinese relations, in the presence of Advisor and Supervisor of Domestic Information at the Ministry of Culture and Information Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Hazza, and Chinese Vice Minister of Culture and Information Chao Sao Hu. In a speech on behalf of the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Muhaydin Khoja, Al-Hazza conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, and the Second Deputy Premier to Chinese leadership and people, wishing them steady progress and prosperity and wishing development and progress for bilateral relations. He reviewed the visits of the leaders of both countries, pointing out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, visited China for the first time in 1998, when he was then the Crown Prince; Chinese President Jiang Zemin visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1999, the first visit of the Chinese President to the Kingdom; the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques paid a second visit to China in 2006; and Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, visited Beijing in 2000. He looked forward to seeing a Chinese similar cultural event in the Kingdom. On her part, the Chinese Vice Minister of Culture and Information expressed her pleasure to attend the opening ceremony of Saudi Cultural Days in China, and to express deep historical bilateral relations between the two countries, noting that cultural exchanges between China and the Kingdom, have been part of the Chinese Government's interest in the promotion of Chinese-Arab relations in general.
