The Middle East Association (MEA) in partnership with the City of London Corporation will organize the Fifth annual City and Gulf Co-operation Council Countries (GCC) Conference at the Merchant Taylors' Hall in London on Monday. This follows the highly successful June 2009 event which brought together over 250 financial sector representatives from the Gulf and their City of London counterparts. The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Nick Anstee, will deliver the Opening Address at the Conference. Leading industry practitioners and experts will deliver Keynote Addresses and will examine the latest trends in the GCC and London markets. Speakers will focus on how London and the GCC cooperates to provide financial services to the broader MENA region, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported. Interactive panels will then debate on Financing Infrastructure and Energy Projects in the MENA Region; The Global Role of Sovereign Wealth Funds and Asset Management; Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Venture Capital in the GCC; The Role of London as a Financial Facilitator; and Regulation, Reform and Progress on the GCC Common Currency. Senior financial sector representatives from the six GCC member countries are being invited to address the conference and participate in the panel discussions.
