Merkel's new spokesman is top German news presenter

Steffen Seibert, one of Germany's best known television journalists, is to become Chancellor Angela Merkel's new spokesman, the government announced Saturday.
Seiffert, who is the main news anchor on the ZDF public television channel, will represent Merkel and her government from August 11, dpa reported.
