An amount of SR 13.2 billion will be spent on domestic tourism during the period from the beginning of July until the end of September in summer this year, in comparison with SR 12.7 billion for the same period in 2009. The Center for Tourism Information and Research of Supreme Commission for Tourism and Antiquities said in its statistical report that it is expected that the number of domestic tourists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the same period will reach 10.9 million compared to 10.7 million tourists in 2009. The report said that the most important places for domestic tourist trips are Makkah Province 47%, the Eastern Province 13%, Asir Province 12%, Riyadh Province 11%, and Madinah and Hail Provinces by 5% for each of them.
