At least 23 people were killed when an overcrowded bus hit a truck in India's eastern state of Bihar on Saturday, police said. The driver of the bus had lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a bend in a village near the state capital Patna, dpa reported. Senior police official Amit Jain told reporters that 27 people were also hospitalized with injuries. The bus had a capacity of 50 passengers, but was carrying more than 80 people, with many riding on its roof, police said.
