The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Balghunym inaugurated here today an Exhibition of Awareness on Drug Damages organized by the Ministry in cooperation with National Committee for Narcotic Control. The Exhibition coincides with International Day against Drug Abuse. The Assistant Secretary General of National Committee for Narcotic Control Dr. Said bin Faleh Alsariha pointed out that Saudi Arabia is taking part in the Global Campaign against Drug Abuse in 2010 through many scientific, educational and media activities, noting that drugs kill nearly half a million people around the world, in addition to the presence of 48 million addicts and as many as 200 million people take regularly drugs including nicotine, amphetamine, heroin, cocaine, pharmaceuticals, and alcohol.
