Six East African countries hit by drought are set to receive 20 million euros (24.5 million dollars) in humanitarian aid from the European Union, dpa quoted the bloc's executive as saying on Wednesday. The European Commission said over 12 million people in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Uganda are affected by recurring droughts, leading to high rates of malnutrition and child mortality.
