The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated here today in the First Arab Conference on the Prospects of Nuclear Power for Electricity Generation and Seawater Desalination held in Hammamet, Tunisia. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was represented by a delegation of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). The three-day conference is organized by the Arab Atomic Energy Agency in cooperation with the League of Arab States and the International Atomic Energy Agency. The conference provides opportunities to the Arab counties to present and discuss the role of nuclear power in meeting the future energy demand. It will also include presentations on the Arab, regional and international cooperation mechanisms under the framework of the Arab strategy programme and vision on nuclear power development.
