Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdul-Aziz Muhaydin Khoja has approved the basic statute for the literary clubs and the accompanying internal statutes. Acting undersecretary of the culture and information ministry for cultural affairs Dr Abdullah al-Jasser said a team of Saudi intellectuals in cooperation with the ministry's agency for cultural affairs has prepared the basic statute and its internal statutes. He noted that the statutes were reviewed by boards of directors of the literary clubs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Jasser pointed out Dr Khoja had issued his directives to form a committee for studying the financial and administrative sides with the participation of a number of intellectuals and persons of rich experience. Al-Jasser pointed out that the statute includes 39 articles , adding that the minister was keen on preparing the statute in a perfect manner.
