British Prime Minister David Cameron said today that it was in everyone's interests for BP to remain a strong and stable company following the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, according to Reuters. Cameron, who is on his way home from Afghanistan, spoke to BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg and expressed his frustration about the environmental damage caused by the leak. "Mr Svanberg made clear that BP will continue to do all that it can to stop the oil spill, clean up the damage and meet all legitimate claims for compensation," a spokesman for the prime minister said. The prime minister said that he would raise the issue - and discuss these points - in a call with U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday.
