Kenya plans to increase spending in the fiscal year starting July to 996.82 billion shillings ($12.89 billion), the government's budget estimates tabled in parliament showed on Wednesday. It expects to spend 675.59 billion shillings on recurrent expenditure from 633.96 billion of approved spending this year, and another 321.23 billion shillings on development projects, Reuters reported. Revenues will finance recurrent expenditure of a total 604.62 billion shillings, the estimates showed. Parliament approved 253.07 billion shillings of development expenditure for the current fiscal year.
