India and the United States Friday agreed to further strengthen institutional mechanisms of cooperation in the area of Science and Technology. Indian Minister of State for Science and Technology Prithviraj Chavan and John P Holdern, Director, Office of the Science & Technology Policy and Assistant to the US President for Science & Technology, agreed that substantial Indo-US collaboration can be further strengthened in various scientific and technical domains at individual and entity level. "However transformation of the bilateral relationship to strategic level should include further strengthening of institutional mechanisms of cooperation in this area, they felt. Chavan was part of the high-powered Indian delegation led by the Indian External Affairs Minister, S M Krishna, to attend the first Indo-US Strategic Dialogue.
