Saudi Electricity Company CEO Speaks on Oil Use in Electricity Production

The Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Electricity Company Eng. Ali bin Saleh Al-Barrak has pointed out that 50% of electricity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is produced by using natural gas available as a fuel.
Meanwhile, power stations on the Kingdom's west coast use heavy fuel for electricity production.
In reply to a question about the consumption of electricity produced through crude oil, he said it did not exceed 100 million barrels in 2009.
