Queen Elizabeth II will not attend this year's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi because of the volume of her commitments, Buckingham Palace announced Sunday, according to AP.
The games are being staged Oct. 3-14 and officials say this is believed to be the first time in 44 years that she has not attended.
«It is correct to say that the Queen will not be attending the Commonwealth Games this year,» a Buckingham Palace spokesman, speaking with customary anonymity, told The Associated Press.
