A total of 356 gas-insulated switchgear bays comprising 46 for the 132-kV voltage level, 124 for 22 kV and 186 for 11 kV are to be supplied from Siemens' plants in Berlin and Frankfurt. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Higher Colleges of Technology and a German Consortium to establish a German Graduate School for Logistics in Abu Dhabi. The MoU was signed by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, and Professor Ungvari, President of the Technical University in Wildau. Sheikh Nahyan also signed an MoU with Professor Peter Loescher, CEO of Siemens AG for the architectural designs of the HCT Innovation City Campus. Economy Minister Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri and Dr Bernd Pfaffenbach, State Secretary in the German Ministry of Economics and Technology signed an MoU for cooperation in small medium enterprises. An MoU for cooperation in upstream oil and gas development was signed by Yousif Omeir bin Yousif, CEO of ADNOC and Secretary General of the Supreme Petroleum Council, and Dr Rainer Zeleh, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Wintershall Holding. A contract for setting up additional CNG fuel stations in the UAE was also signed by Abdulla Al Dhaheri, General Manager of ADNOC Distribution, and Philipp Bayat, CEO of Bauer Kompressoren. Borouge and Linde Group signed a US$ 1.075 billion contract for the construction of a 1.5 million tonnes per year (t/y) ethane cracker at Borouge's production site in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, in the UAE. The contract was signed by Abdulaziz Alhajri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Polymers (Borouge) and Professor Dr. Wolfgang Reitzle, Chief Executive Officer of Linde Group. The new cracker, the third of its kind to be built by The Linde Group for Borouge in one decade, complements the existing 600,000 t/y and planned 1.5 million t/y ethane crackers at the plant.
