based Al-Nadwah said the recent Dushanbe Declaration of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) Foreign Ministers, has reiterated the importance of avoiding linking terrorism with any religion, race, creed, values or cultures of any society, adding that the declaration constitutes a wise and rational trend. "Actually terrorism is not associated with any religion or morals and the practices of terrorists run counter to the teachings of any religion," said the paper. The declaration represents an important message to the west to avoid associating Islam or Muslims with any terror act, the daily said. Al-Nadwah pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been doing its best to clarify this fact after the incidents of September 11 and it has attained success in this regard despite the antagonistic media campaigns which tried to link the terror acts of September with Muslims, adding that Dushanbe declaration is another Endeavour to correct the stand of the west vis-à-vis Islam. The daily believes that Islamic-western cooperation will continue for clearing the true image of Islam which is based on the principles of love, fraternity and tolerance, and this cooperation will continue through the policy of dialogue because dialogue is the only way for enhancing the pillars of understanding and cooperation. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has called for enhancing the concept of dialogue of civilizations rather than conflict of civilizations, and this call has been received by a positive response at the local, regional and international arenas. The daily affirmed that the aftermath of Dushanbe declaration, which focused on the dire need of activating dialogue between the Muslim world and the west, would be expected to lead to deepening understanding of Islam around the world, the daily concluded. --MORE
