German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle arrived today in Beirut on the first leg of his Arab tour, during which he plans to discuss the Middle East Peace process, dpa reported. Westerwelle was greeted upon his arrival at Beirut International Airport by his Lebanese counterpart, Ali Shami. The German official is due to start his talks in Beirut with a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri later Friday. On Saturday, Westerwelle will hold talks with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and Shami. Westerwelle will also visit Egypt, Jordan and Syria during his weekend visit.
