British Airways saw a record loss of 425 million pounds (612 million dollars) in the 2009-10 business year, the figure reflecting the economic downturn and the tough winter, the airline said Friday, according to dpa. The red ink - the highest loss ever since BA's privatization in 1987 - was 19 per cent higher than in the previous business year. Revenues in the year ending March 31 shrank by 11 per cent to 8 billion pounds. BA said it would propose no dividend to shareholders given the results. The results come as meanwhile BA is embroiled in a bitter labour dispute with 13,000 cabin crew personnel, who on Thursday won a legal battle to enable them to start a series of walk-outs on Monday.
