India is awaiting Qatar's approval to set up a campus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Daggupati Purandeswari has said. India had expressed its willingness to open an IIT campus in Qatar last year but infrastructure for the complex needed to be developed locally, she said, adding that once India received the necessary clearance, efforts to set up the campus would be intensified. Purandeswari, who was on a visit to Doha to open a public school, said India has initiated a series of reforms to improve the quality of school education, according to a report of Press Trust of India.
