Two Russian pilots arrested in Germany Wednesday on suspicion of an attempted plane hijacking were the victims of a misunderstanding, Russian media reported Thursday, according to dpa. The pilots, who work for a Russian airline, had been discussing a security training session they attended in Berlin as they sat on an Air Berlin flight about to depart the capital's Tegel airport for Moscow, the Ria Novosti news agency reported. A woman overheard their conversation and contacted the police, who arrested the men and removed their luggage from the plane. The mistake reportedly emerged when the police interviewed the 49- year-old and the 26-year-old men, who were subsequently released.
